Sheep Tag Winter Tournament 2013

Since a lot of people will be home for winter break, let's get a little competition in the air with a friendly tournament!
Last thread got extremely cluttered in debates about how to do the tourney. So here's a new thread for how the tourney will really happen.

SHEEP TAG WINTER TOURNAMENT 2013

Anyone can sign up
Subs are not allowed
You can only be on ONE team.

The tournament will be held in January 2nd-3rd. Plan to play A LOT of fun competitive Sheep Tag these two days!
Specific round times and number of games will be given a week prior to the tournament.


Rules:
A specific tournament map will be played games will be 5v5 time 20.
Each team will get a sheep round and a wolf round. Team with the longer sheep round wins that game.
Sheep team will choose colors and host.
Players must show up no later then 30 minutes past game time before the game is either forfeited or played man down
Smurfing, account trading, saving the game, and game throwing will not be tolerated
Pausing the game is allowed with a warning before hand only 1 pause per team per round
Sheep Team can only -cancel 1 time per round

Ties:
If teams tie then that round is thrown out and another round is played.
If both teams last the full time then another round is played with an extra 5 minutes.

Disconnects:
Only 1 remake is allowed per team per game
Remake is only allowed if a player disconnects under 1 minute of round time
If there is already a sheep killed remakes are not allowed for the sheep team
The disconnecting player has 20 minutes to sign back into bnet before the other team has to play

Report misbehavior directly to me (XXXandBEER456) replay necessary.
Any findings and or reports of these rules being broken can result in your team receiving time penalties, forfeiting the game, or possibly kicked out of the tournament


And finally the Prizes:
The WINNING team will get
-Colored sheep of their choice
-Account names as wolf names
-Added to Sheep Tag Hall of Fame
-A RoC CD Key for each member of the team (courtesy of me)

How to Register - Registration Closes UPDATE December 19th
If you would like to enter in this tournament just post your account name and server.
I will choose 4 of the top players who signed up to be captain.
Everyone else will be added to the Player Draft Pool.
After registration closes and we have 20 players signed up. I will get together with the 4 captains and they will take turns drafting players.
Teams and brackets will be posted once the draft is complete


The draft will be held on the 23rd I will PM each captain the time and channel we will be meeting in. If for some reason a captain is unable to make the draft pls PM me an order of players that I will go off to draft players for your team.

i suggest you try and get chaise/shoop to sign up. very good promotion. they are online 24/7 anyway.

i'm not 100% sure i'll be able to participate, but you can sign me up on the list and remove me when it gets filled, if someone else wants my spot. i'll most likely play if you need me though.

?? The tournament made map has not been chosen yet nor made at all. It mostly likely will not be played on ROTS.

would be quite fun with a tourney on a new map. people play constantly on the old map. changing the gamename from "trollpros captains game" to "stwc 2013" with slightly more balanced teams and some rules = not really what i had in mind.

would be really fun to play some serious games with all the map-features from the GOLDEN DAYS of sheeptag (stacks, invis, golems etc). let the new players experience how we did it in the old, fun days

shoop, im pretty sure it wont hurt that it's there. beer knows that you wont play, but it helps promoting the tourney. or do you want the tourney/attempt at creating activity to fail for some reason?

just remove the name after you reach a satisfactory amount of players.

there's still alot of time left to test/balance. in WORST CASE scenario, you could just play on the old map if the new one isnt ready a few days before the tourney starts. just write it in the information section of your first post.

a bigger problem would be making people practice on the old map, then announce that the tourney is gonna be held on a new map 2 days before the tourney starts.

Its wrong kind of promotion that will undermine mine and BEERS credability. If I am listed as a player here and dont play the next time my name is listed it wont mean a shit.

im pretty sure most people(probably without exception) would prefer that we use your name to promote the tournament if it means that more people are going to sign up. your/beers reputation will improve if you do everything you can to improve the tournament hosted for the players that still enjoy ST.


but do what you want. i just think we'll have a bigger chance of getting a good tourney that will spike ST activity if we use your name for promotion, and i value that alot. so i still suggest you do whatever will make this tourney as good as possible beer. THAT'S what creates credibility as an organizer/supporter! i guess the saying "the end justifies the means" is applicable here

As I said.

If we start to lie about who is participating in a tournament it will erode its value and in the long run do more harm than damage.

I am pretty sure most people who consider the longterm effect of such behaviour will agree on that and therefore prefer if we dont use my name to promote this tournament.

But regardless of that, please remove my name from the list since I am not participating.
