These two are list-threads with zero content and value. I'm going to delete them now. They contain zero opportunity for discussion.

There is evidently not a problem with people wanting to contribute to the forums - the problem lies in current contributions being worthless spam.

I can't allow these sort of threads because they set the standard for discussion. We must together increase the post-standard and get rid of one-liner spam & pure list-threads.

You are free to make top 10 rankings and similar IF they contain value (i.e. humour in the descriptions or the equivalent) or content for DISCUSSION.

Yes, all of my threads are better.

Threads that are the equivalent of counting to 100 do not have a place in a serious forum.

Feel free to convince the other admins/mods if you feel strongly.

Who cares if there's discussion or debate in a thread. It dealt with the community. I.e it was a fun way to make a list of sheep taggers. Also it kept up activity. If people are signing on to post on the list they might see another topic they are interested in. Imo it was one of the more active topics we've had. Also it caused no harm to anyone, yes a fun thread that didn't involve flaming (which is super hard to find on these forums) imagine that!


The reason sidey truely removed my topic is not because it offered "no value" because it definitely did. But he was angry at how a simple alphabet list got more views/replies then any of his garbage picture threads and metaphors. Sidey removed my topic out of jealousy!

Actually itio, although you have great concept I have made some shit threads, I agree with Sidey. That list you made actually kind of hurt, and there was no reason for it. If you don't like me you do not have to play with me.

If you guys want me THAT gone, i'll go if i'm just ruining the ST community.

This forum is already dead since noone posts new material, and noone has any incentive to post new material since you barely get any reponse. Effort is usually in vain. This is how ST forums (maybe with exception of mavs) always has been, 2% producer 98% leecher, until the 2% producers decides they cant be bothered to produce fun for everyone else without getting anything in return and lets the forum die completely or end up with 100% list-threads.

Deleting the threads that people enjoy only speeds up this process though, let the content that the majority CLEARLY prefers to read and write in stay, these people have no interest in gigantic debate-threads anyway. And if they stick around we will ATLEAST maintain a platform where you can communicate with the community and fuck around a bit.

"good threads drown in shit" only works if there are any good threads to begin with.

Complain to admins if you want them back. I haven't deleted them, they are in the basket.

Ultimately this forum sucks and has little content.

We either

(a) decide to let the forum be overrun by spammers and non-content list threads

(b) do something about it and try to maintain some sort of standard

As a moderator I feel obliged to go with (b) but I really don't care too much.

Also, the three-best-friend thread should obviously also be deleted.

Probably you coul add another section for videos/ fun topics and everything is fine.

this is exactly how is. and it's not that people are incapable of making good threads/posts. people don't care/don't got enough brainpower to realize that they have to donate a little effort in order to get a payback, and have a fun/functioning forum. in any case, it's going to take a shitload of time/effort to convince them to change their posting habits, if its even possible.



there is no reason for anyone to create good threads with these sad and lonely freaks we have around but good luck. oh, and i don't give a shit if the alphabeth stays or is deleted. obviously its a trash post(sarri beer ^^), but i dont think deleting is going to accomplish anything. as said, people don't care about contributing. they come here to suck as much free and effortless fun from the work of others, and move on when there is no fun left.

I'm completely with sidey on this one. I've said on bnet before that once threads like these, i.e the two eaxmpels sidey gave, start popping up it means the forum quality is dropping rapidly. They're INSANELY boring and spur more boring threads and soon we'll end up with a forum of '1-million-posts-topics'.

You fools don't even realize this was all just an attempt by sidey to increase forum activity which it did...

Sidey is right ofcourse silly threads like these deserve to be deleted, but i don't think he has a right to complain or delete them because he makes silly threads himself. If anything hes the one who started posting threads with no content so ofcourse the rest of the donkeys started following suit. People lead by example Sidey/Exa if you want a change how about you change yourself first?
