Just because its general discussion doesn't mean you can spam threads about survivor

Russel is the best at getting to the end and all that. He is the best at the aspects of survivor we (except beer) enjoy, manipulating, social game, finding idols etc etc On the other hand, he will NEVER win. His strategy makes everybody hate him like cancer so he is guaranteed to never get more than 1 or 2 jury votes. He couldn't even beat 2 of the most lame players ever in s19. He could very well be one of the WORST players when it comes to winning.

Being good at a game means you are good at winning, the point of the game is to win and if you can't win, you're no good player.

So no, while Russel might be the best player at getting to the end, he is far from the best survivor player.

would it be possible to play exactly like he does, just in a more friendly manner? he did get shambo and johns vote, despite backstabbing them HUGE. they were both critical votes in order to give russell the dominating numbers after the merge.

maybe if he was nicer in social situations = he would get votes despite his tactic being ''non-loyal''/backstabbing?

Well John was a smart kid, rocket scientist or something so he was obviously 100 % rational with his vote. Shambo was just crazy and she really loved Russel for crushing Laura.

I don't think it's possible to play like him without making people upset. I guess he could skip some of the talk but backstabbing and destroying people like he does just pisses them off and it doesn't help if they were amigos before. It's a part of his playstyle to do that, like he did with Danielle and how he backstabbed JT in s20.

Russel himself also realized this since he said he was going to change his playstyle in s22, sucked that he got thrown out so early otherwise he might have gone far.

first of all, the reason he was ''going to change his playstyle'' in s22 is because everyone else had seen him play before, not because he didn't think he had a good strategy.



but you're saying that russel cant win cause people disrespect his strategy, EVEN if hes nice to them socially. but is there any way to get to the top 3 without backstabbing and without relying on very much luck? there is no way...

some people look like moral players because they don't have to do anything. they are on winning tribe from the start, they are on the biggest allience after the merge, and so on. russell had none of that and still managed to get to the top. in both 19 and 20.

russell HAD to play the way he did in order to get to the top 3. he doesn't backstab becaue its fun, obviously there are inherent risks with backstabbing everyone, both on the island and when ur getting juryvotes. some people dont have to play this way and they can get to the top 3, but they can't do what russell does in his situation(all odds against him).



russell is the best player i think. he was unlucky by getting in positions where backstabbing was necessary to ensure progress in the game.
